A Growing Staff

The season is a bit away but we are getting a taste of football through the AAF and now the NFL Combine. Typical off season stuff (AAF being new). Our team in particular is going through some pretty incredible changes during this off season. New coaches are changing the face of the men in stripes and we all hope for the best.

On Thursday the Bengals announced the hiring of Nick Eason as the defensive line coach, Tem Lukabu as the linebackers coach, Brad Kragthorpe as an offensive assistant, and Jordan Kovacs as sort of a defensive quality control specialist. We also added Todd Hunt and Garrett Swanson as assistant strength and conditioning coaches to command our boys to grow.

Coach Eason was with Austin Peay University last year and had accepted a job at Vanderbilt for 2019 before joining the Bengals. He graced the Titans with his presence for four years with in Tennessee as a defensive line coach from 2014 to 2017.

Lukabu was the linebackers coach at Mississippi State last season. He has also been with the 49ers as a defensive quality control coach in San Fran and a defensive assistant with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Kragthorpe was an offensive analyst at LSU for the 2018 season after spending the prior two seasons at Utah State....sounds fun..

Kovacs was a graduate assistant under Jim Harbaugh at Michigan (Shit Team) over the last two seasons. He played three seasons for the Miami Dolphins at safety from 2013 to 2015. Professional experience is always a plus.

It just keeps getting better and better as new faces step in. It’s like a crazy, frightening but exciting time to be a Bengals fan. Will these new faces enhance our squad or will we fall flat on our face? Who the hell knows...I like to think we have a pretty good damn shot in the 2019/20 season. LFG comes to mind.
