Here we go again... The search for the Bengals next Defensive Coordinator continues. This time around they have their sites set on is New York's Defensive Backs Coach Lou Anarumo. It is just getting embarrassing at this point. We need to hire somebody so people can stop talking shit about our inability to make this happen.
Ole Lou has a great coaching background but has never held the full time Defensive Coordinator position. His expertise sit in the DB realm. The closest he has gotten is the interim spot on the Miami Dolphins squad where ironically Zac Taylor was the Quarterbacks Coach at the time. This was in 2015. He joined the Giants coaching tree in 2017.
At this point the candidate list is dwindling. If Lou doesn't take the gig we do not have many more options. This would be a good hire, or at least a familiar one. Having worked with Coach Taylor in the past there would at least be a possibility of him being on the same page as the head coach. Who the hell knows at this point though.... Lets just get off this train and hire a damn DC.
