Per a recent report Todd Grantham has turned down the Bengals Defensive Coordinator job. Grantham is reportedly staying with the Florida Gators instead of making the jump to the big leagues. I see both sides to this. The passionate burning fan in me says "Ok...fuck you then Todd" but the reasonable football purest in me says "Would I want to inherit this shit defense?" We weren't exactly a force to be reckoned with last year.
Grantham had a pretty legit background in terms of coaching. Having 29 years of experience at schools the likes of Florida, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, The Colts, The Texans and the Cowboys. Was he the answer to our defensive woes? Who knows. We may never find out. Either way Cincy is still in the hunt for a new Defensive Coordinator. It would be nice to get one hired sooner than later so our defense has someone at the helm.
