In other than football news the Columbus Blue Jackets are up 3-0 over the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Tonight they go into game four and the fight to make history as the first team in Columbus history to advance to the second round of the playoffs. As we covered in our initial Jackets post the team is absolutely on fire having won 4-3 in game one, then absolutely dominating in game two at 5-1, and a solid beating in game three at 3-1 over Tampa.
Look, no one in there right mind expected the Jackets to shut out the Lightning in round one of this seven game series. It is quite literally the biggest shocker of the entire NHL season. Every hockey podcast, blog, and news paper is stunned when they write their stories and takes on this series. Tampa Bay media is in tears over their supposed team of all teams and the pounding they are taking from the little guy on the block. We here at 4TH & CINCY are very excited to see our Ohio hockey team taking to the man. Tampa is easily the best team in the NHL and we are smoking them. For an eight seed to be beating the brakes off of the one seed is unheard of, even in the craziness that is NHL playoffs.
We will see tonight if the boys can take the series in four. Players like Foligno and Anderson are hot under the collar and ready to fight while the Breadman Panarin and Cam Atkinson are prepared to rip corners and end this now. Grab a beer and hold on tight because tonight will be an absolute ridiculous time if they knock Tampa out and advance to round two! Hell yeah!
