I am shooketh. Our beloved second rate football league has had the rug pulled out from underneath it. All football operations have been suspended in their inaugural season just days after completing week 8, and just weeks before their league playoffs were set to begin and end with a championship.
I at first had hope that this was a rumor. When the rumor was confirmed I had hoped they would possibly solve the issue and restart it backup. This however, is not in the cards either. An email has been unearthed from the big wigs at the AAF to its employees stating they would only be keeping small amount of employees on staff and thanked the rest for their service. Shit....
Honestly I am still I’m in denial. This is a sad day for football purists. One that has become all too familiar to anyone who has followed or supported any league other than the NFL in the last four decades. The old XFL for example. Fans of these types of leagues are die-hard football fans.
This is honestly sad. I mean that from the bottom of my heart. Hundreds of not thousands of jobs may be going away. Entire cities got behind teams and are now just confused. “Why the hell is this happening?”.... “Shit now I have to go back to rooting for the Dolphins again.” Just some of what we believe these fans may be thinking.
We now await round two of the “other than NFL” in the newly rebranded XFL. Will it do better than the AAF? Who knows...All we can say is we will 100% dive in head first and be crushed again if the league fails...again..
