I can smell it. The heap of what is left of last years burning garbage pile of a season. The season was like bathing in napalm and not in a good way. But fans...I smell the napalm turning in our favor this morning for the 2019/20 season, and I love the smell of napalm in the morning.
Tonights draft is going to be unlike many in recent history. Why you ask? Key, sexy positions are simply not available at the top rounds of the draft. Those that are, quarterbacks for example, nobody is quite sold on. Even the suppose best one in the draft (Kyler Murray) is an “eh” for most teams.
This shitstorm puts the Bengals in a great spot. Behind them in the draft order are a group of quarterback-needy teams willing to take a chance like Washington, New York and Miami. Up ahead of them are ten teams potentially interested in moving back due to their team strengths as well as a bunch of badass athletes up for grabs the deepest defensive line draft in recent memory. We have the potential to make a splash this year.
Do we take the chance and stay at the eleven spot? Or do we try to trade up to eleviate the risk of missing players like Devin White, stud linebackerout of LSU. We can pick up a solid player at our current spot however, it would be exciting to see Cincy make some crazy moves.
the cards suggest White won’t make it out of the top 10. Michigan’s Devin Bush might not either. Our other massive need involves four offensive tackles who all are under the gun of our newest additions to the staff. Cordy Glenn only has two years left on his contract and Bobby Hart currently holds down the right tackle spot. We have ZERO depth behind these guys. If we sustain one injury we are screwed. The tranches are the grittiest place to be in football. Our trenches
need help and need it now.
Whatever happens we all here just hope we stay away from temptation and fill our needs! Our eyes will be glued to the TV as our team attempts to make history and turn this franchise around.
