The Bengals have signed another former New York Giants defender. Cincinnati signed defensive lineman Kerry Wynn to a one-year deal.
Wynn has connections to Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo, as he played on a Giants defense in which Anarumo was the secondary coach this past season.
Kerry was originally an undrafted free agent out of the University of Richmond in 2014. He has largely played off of the edge, but he’s capable of lining on inside, primarily on passing downs.
As a rotational player, Wynn has recorded 140 tackles and 4.5 sacks over the past five seasons. He set a career-high in tackles with 53 in 2015. He recorded 39 this past season to go with a career-high two forced fumbles and 1.5 sacks.
This will give Cincinnati some nice depth along the defensive line, something they’ve clearly been searching for based on who they’ve hosted for free agent visits this offseason, which included Vinny Curry and Shaquil Barrett. We shall see!
