Our Mighty Smokin Joe Mixon has impressed us with his athletic ability and desire to win it all. He is a tractor beam aimed strait to the endzone. In his first year Joe switched back and forth with Gio amassing just under 700 yards. Last year, 2018, Joe eclipsed the 1,000 yard mark and went off. He also averaged five yards a carry which is huge and ads up.
After the sometimes frustrating switching back and forth of Gio and Jeremy Hill it is nice to have a definitive starter, a go to guy.
On on top of his ability to run the ball consistsntly he can catch out of the backfield. Last year he had just under 300 receiving yards at 296 total. It is nice to have a versatile back behind / beside Andy.
The only thing at this point that can hold Mixon back is the shotty Cincinnati offensive line. If they can possibly grab a free agent or two, maybe draft a young stud than holes will quite literally open up for Joe. Can’t beat the excitement of Joe bursting through the line and breaking off a 20 yarder.
Overall I’ve gotta say #28 is an amazing weapon on our offense. He has impressed over the last two years and will continue to put asses in seats at Paul Brown if we can build around him.
