Schedules have dropped and we are one step closer to having glorious football back in our lives. We look to be playing our normal schedule with a few fun ones sprinkled in here and there but, one item in particular has been noticed. Now we rarely get love from the NFL. We are the orange headed step child to teams like the Steelers and the Ravens, and we don't even compare to the NFL favorites and their bandwagons like the Patriots or the Cowboys. I do believe though as a fan base we have embraced this role. We understand we are not going to be featured in commercials or talked about on ESPN. The latest to come out of the head sheds at the NFL though is perplexing.

Cincinnati has but one prime time game on the schedule. I know we don't always perform the best under the lights but c'mon. We are better than one measly prime timer that was an after thought because we are playing Pittsburgh. Like "Oh, shit.. I forgot about those guys" was muttered at a staff meeting and the old F-it was pulled out of thin are in our selection for this game.
Now I know they made some sexy moves in the off season and have the electric Baker Mayfield at their helm but for the Cleveland Browns to essentially have 80% of their schedule in prime time while we sit at one is absurd. They have near ten games under the lights as if they cast this massive better than you shadow over Cincy. I am calling this what it is, bullshit. If I am a Bengal I am personally insulted by this. I am wiping the spit off of my face from the NFL and playing with hate this season for my new coach. I am certainly circling the Brownies games on my calendar and mainlining pre-workout prior to kickoff so I can take somebodies head off.
It looks like we will have to prove ourselves as a legitimate contender this year. Which is honestly not all that different than seasons past but under this new regime we would have thought a little more respect would come our way. We shall see if hype grows and games are flexed with the upcoming draft and pre-season games occur. Who knows in this league!
