Last year was not ideal and sort of the old norm for our Cincinnati squad. Not making the playoffs, losing games we should have won and not using players to their full potential is something we as fans unfortunately just expect to happen at this point.
With that being said there is light at the end of the tunnel. Along with this years complete regime shift we have some players coming back who played very well last year. One player in particular is Tyler Boyd.
Tyler was a surprise standout in the 2018 season. He finished the season with 1,028 yards, securing his first 1,000-year season. It was up almost 500% from the 2017 season in which he totaled just 225 yards. Talk about a leap!
Tyler also snagged seven touchdowns, having only caught three during his first two seasons. Needless to say, Boyd is showing us he is in Cincy to play ball.
Going into the 2019 season we hope he continues to prove that he can take his game to the next level. With Antonio Brown being traded to the Raiders, Boyd and Green could combine to boast the AFC North’s top receiving core. We shall see!
